How to Apply For PAN Card Online – The full name of PAN card in India is Permanent Account Number. We also call it ‘Permanent Account Number’ in Hindi. This PAN card is made by the Income Tax Department. It comes with a 10 digit code. More information about how to make PAN card is given below.

You can apply for PAN card in two ways. And it’s online both ways. I have explained both these methods very easily below.

Why do you need a PAN card in India, but you will know it. If you have Aadhar card, and you want to make PAN card through Aadhar card, then you will find the first method easiest. If you do not have Aadhar card then you can use other method. Or if you do not want to make using Aadhar card, then there is another way for you.

Why is it necessary to make a PAN card?
If you make a loan of more than 50,000 thousand in the bank, then PAN card is necessary for you.
You can also use it as a supporting document i.e. identity card.
If you want to file, or fill, Tax Income Return File (TIR), then it is necessary for you.
You can make only one PAN card of a person, because 10 digit code is available in the PAN card which can never be changed.

Get PAN Card with e Sign & e KYC

If you want to make a PAN card with this e Sign & e Kyc, then you will not have to go anywhere to verify the document. You can verify this document online. But to use this method, you must have Aadhar card and Aadhar card should be linked with your mobile number. This method is the easiest and can be completed in 3 days.

You do not have to upload any document or any photo in this. But the basic information in the Aadhar card will come in the PAN card. Now take out your Aadhar card and read all the steps given below carefully.

Step-1: You click on this link NSDL Official Website . This is the official website of NSDL PAN Card. As soon as you open this website, the form of Online Pan Application will open in front of you.

Application Type: New Pan Indian Citizen (Form 49A)
Category: Individual If you want to create for a common citizen.
Title: Select according to you, which is the title of the applicant.
Surname: Type the full name of the applicant (for whom PAN card is applying).
Date of Birth / Incorporation: Select the date of birth of the applicant.
Email ID: Type, on which the token number will be received, and later you can login again with it.
Mobile Number: Enter the mobile number of the applicant which is linked with the Aadhar card.
Submit: Click on submit here, and note down the token number.
Submit: This token number is of 10 digits, which will appear on the screen after submission. Then click on Continue.

Your registration has been done, now you have to fill the form for the next step.

If for some reason your form fails, that is, your form gets canceled.
You will not have to register again.
You have to click on the link given above.
And later you can login by entering token number, email ID and date of birth.

Step-2: In this step, you have to fill the form related to your personal details. While filling the form of this step 2, you should save draft. With this Save Draft you will not have to login again and again.

Enter Aadhaar last four digits: Type the last 4 digits of your Aadhar card here.
I hereby agree that my photograph as available in Aadhaar shall be printed on the PAN Card: Select Yes.

Father’s Last Name / Surname: Write the father’s full name.
Mother’s Name: Write the full name of the mother.

Step-3: You have to give information related to ‘Contact & other details’ in this step.

Source of Income: Select and tick the source of your income. If there is no income, click on No Income.
Telephone Number & Email ID details: Here you have to select India (+91) in ‘Country code (ISD code)’. And enter your mobile number and email.
Click on Next.

Step-4: In this step, you have to fill the information related to ‘AO Code’.
Area code, AO type, Range code, AO No: Write as per your information. If you do not know this information, then you must first in ‘For help on AO code’.
Click on Indian Citizens. Afterwards you have to select your State and City. Now you will get the information of AO Code below.
Click on Next.

Step-5: You have to give information related to ‘Document details’ in this step.

We are making PAN card through e Sign & e Kyc. So we do not have to upload any document in this step. So you just select Himself/Herself under Declaration-.
Place: From where you are applying. Select the name of that place.
Click on Submit.
Enter Aadhaar first eight digits: You have to write 8 digits of your Aadhar card in this step. After that you have to verify all the documents carefully. If there is any mistake in the document here, then click on edit below.
Click on Proceed.
Step-6: In this step you will see the option of Mode of Payment. In this, select the way in which you want to make payment. Here you will see how much you have to pay on the screen.

First of all, click on the option of online payment.
Now click on I Agree to the terms of service.
Now you have to click on process to payment.
Here you will see the option of Make Payment on the screen. In it, after choosing any one of net banking, debit card, credit card etc., type whatever information is being asked.
Your payment will be done, after a while you will see the payment receipt on the screen. After that you can save it in print or pdf.

Step-7: In this step 7 you have to get your Aadhar card verified/authenticated.
Click on I hereby that and click on Authenticate.
Now otp will come on your mobile number. Enter it here. Here you have to keep in mind that otp will be generated only 3 times.

Here after your Aadhar card is successfully authenticated, your Pan Card Application will be successfully submitted. Later you will get Acknowledgment Sleep on the next screen. Acknowledgment number is written in it. Download it, otherwise write it somewhere. Keep this number handy, because from this number you can know the status of your PAN card.

Now you will get your PAN card PDF file (Paperless PAN Card) on your given e-mail within 3-4 days. Your physical PAN card is delivered to your address within about 15-20 days. If your Authenticate is not done, and something like this error came.

Get PAN Card from Physical Mode

Making this PAN Card from Physical Mode means that you do not have Aadhar card, or you people do not want to make it from Aadhar card. In this method, you do not have to upload any document online, rather you have to select any one of the following documents. More details of which are given below.

If you tried to make PAN card through eSign & e Kyc but their Aadhar card is not verified / authenticated, then you can also create PAN card in this way.

Step-1: You click on this link NSDL Official Website . This is the official website of NSDL PAN Card. As soon as you open this website, the form of Online Pan Application will open in front of you.

If for some reason your form fails, ie your form gets canceled. You will not have to register again. You have to click on the link given above. And later you can login by entering token number, email ID and date of birth.

Step-2: In this step, you have to fill the form related to your personal details. While filling the form of this step 2, you should save draft. With this Save Draft you will not have to login again and again.

You have to tick / click on Forward Application Document Physically first in this step.
Enter Aadhaar last four digits: Enter the last 4 digits of your Aadhar card.
Name As Per Aadhar: Type your name as mentioned in the Aadhar card.
Gender (Only for individual): Select your gender.
Father’s Last Name/ Surname: Write the father’s full name.
Mother’s Name: Write the full name of the mother.
Click on Next.

Step-3: You have to give information related to ‘Contact & other details’ in this step.

Select and tick the source of your income. If there is no income, click on No Income.
• Address: Here you have 2 options. First- Residential Address (Residence Address) and Second- Office Address Write the details of the address on which you want to get PAN card.
• Telephone Number & Email ID details: Here you have to select India (+91) in ‘Country code (ISD code)’. And enter your mobile number and email.
Click on Next.

Step-4: In this step, you have to fill the information related to ‘AO Code’.

• Area code, AO type, Range code, AO No: Write as per your information. If you do not know this information, then in ‘For help on AO code’ you must first click on Indian Citizens. Afterwards you have to select your State and City. Now you will get the information of AO Code below.
Click on Next.

Step-5: You have to give information related to ‘Document details’ in this step.

Here you are making through Physical Mode, so you do not have to provide any document here. You have to select the document to submit here. You will get 3 options to submit this document – Proof Of Identity, Proof Of Address, and Proof Of Date Of Birth, then you select your documents from these options. We have told you above, select one document at a time, but all the information should be correct.
Declaration: Select Himself/Herself inside this.
Place: From where you are applying. Select the name of that place.
Click on Submit.

Step-6: In this step you will see the option of Mode of Payment. In this, select the way in which you want to make payment. Here you will see how much you have to pay on the screen.

First of all, click on the option of online payment.
Now click on I Agree to the terms of service.
Now you have to click on the process to payment button.

Click on Authenticate Aadhar Card:
Later you will get Acknowledgment Sleep on the next screen. Acknowledgment number is written in it. Download it, otherwise write it somewhere. Keep this number handy, because from this number you can know the status of your PAN card.

Step-7: Now you have to take the print out of Acknowledgment Sleep. And how to post/set it is explained below.

You have to paste 2 photos in the first page of Acknowledgment Sleep. And those photos should be formal.
Now you have to sign [document]with black pen at 3 places. The first signature [document]has to be done in the first page under the right photo. The second signature is to be done half up and half down in the left photo. The third signature [document]has to be done in the signature box on the right side of the last page.
Now you have to take out a copy of the documents that you selected above and add it to the form. And you put them inside a post envelope and stick them.
