Technology Desk Ahmedabad: Demand for indigenous alternatives to Chinese apps has increased in the country since the government banned 59 Chinese apps, including TikTok. Roposo is one of the indigenous apps that came to limelight after the ban on Tiktok. Currently, this short video sharing platform is getting 5 lakh downloads every hour. The app has received over 50 million downloads on the Play Store so far. If the demand for the app continues at the same pace, it could get 100 million downloads by the end of this month. Roposo received more than 2 million downloads in just 2 days after being ticked off.
“We also keep an eye on the content coming on the platform and give the creators a chance to make money,” Mayank Bhangadia, CEO and co-founder of the company, told Business Insider. One creator of our app has earned Rs 1.37 lakh in the month of June.
The Roposo app currently has over 50 million downloads on the Play Store. The 19MB app has received a 4.2 star rating on the Play Store. Roposo has been launched by a start-up company in Gurugram. The app has been available on Playstore since November 2014, but with the recent ban on Tiktok, the indigenous short video app ‘Roposo’ has suddenly come to limelight. Apart from Roposo, the number of downloads of ‘Spark’ and ‘Friends’ on the Play Store is also increasing.
